Following The Art of Not Looking Back, which entered the Paris Opera Ballet’s repertoire in 2018, Hofesh Shechter is now passing on two new pieces to the Company’s dancers: Uprising (2006) and In your rooms (2007). Two early works in which the choreographer’s style is already recognisable: a trance-like telluric dance and a central role for rhythm. Uprising brings together seven men who suddenly burst forth in full light, driven by a force which seems to propel them ever further before disappearing into the darkness. In your rooms features nine dancers in a spellbinding choreography set to a score composed by Hofesh Shechter himself – the true DNA of his kinetic vision of movement. A performance which combines electrifying dance, powerful scenography and live music.
